The name

Why this space is called Yuj

युज्

yuj · to unite

Yoga was never invented as a workout. Over five thousand years ago, the seers of the Vedas described a path whose one aim was union: Yuj, the Sanskrit root from which the word yoga itself is born. The union of body, mind, and soul. The merging of the individual self, the jeevatma, with the universal, the paramatma.

Everything people love yoga for today, the strength, the flexibility, the calm mind, the better sleep, is real. But in the classical understanding, these are the side effects of the practice, not its purpose. They arrive on their own when the practice is done sincerely.

Yuj Yoga Space exists to teach yoga with that original depth intact: asana and pranayama taught precisely, philosophy taught honestly, and a path that meets you where you are, whether you have come for a healthier back or for something much deeper.

The difference

Yoga taught from the source

Lineage, not trend

Training and teaching in the Sivananda and Ashtanga traditions, carried faithfully from teacher to student. No fusion fads, no diluted sequences.

Scholarship you can question

An MSc in Yoga, research on asana practice for working professionals, and study of the Yoga Sutras with Vyasa's commentary. Ask anything; the answers have sources.

Personal, by design

Small batches and one-on-one sessions mean your body, your pace, and your goals shape the class, never the other way around.

A way of life

Classes weave in breathwork, relaxation, philosophy, and daily-life practice, so what you learn on the mat quietly changes the rest of your day.

What students say

60+ students taught. Here are a few of their words.

Initially I was quite sceptical about waking up early, joining the class and then office, but once your classes commenced it never felt like a task to me. Your ability to explain the asanas with such clarity and ease is truly remarkable. Even the more complex poses feel accessible thanks to your detailed and thoughtful guidance.
Rajni GandhaSoftware Engineer · India20-day beginner batch
I joined Yuj Yoga's one-month crash course first and enjoyed it enough to continue with the regular classes. Over the weeks I could really feel the difference, not just in my flexibility and strength, but especially in my breathing and how much lighter and more relaxed my body felt. Even though the sessions are virtual, the instructions are very clear and the guidance makes it easy to follow each asana correctly.

The classes were really easy and simple to follow. The program was well designed and organised. It's a good foundation class for the beginners who are interested to do yoga and meditation.

What sets him apart is his ability to tailor each session to meet individual needs, ensuring every movement is executed safely and effectively. Under his guidance, I've experienced tremendous improvement in my flexibility, strength, and overall well-being. Sathyajhith is a true gem in the world of yoga.
Saravana BhavaSoftware Engineer · UKOne-on-one
I had a fantastic 12-week yoga journey with Sathyajith. Despite the time zone differences between the UK and India, he conducted seamless virtual classes every weekend. The small group setting made learning comfortable and interactive, and his guidance was clear, patient, and motivating.
Mouriesh SKMedia Professional · UK12-week weekend group program
I joined his class to prepare for a competition, and with his guidance, I won first place! He made every asana easier by teaching me the right stretches beforehand and shared so many helpful tips and tricks. His teaching style is patient, encouraging, and incredibly effective.

Started my morning with a recorded yoga session and felt incredibly relaxed. I was so relaxed that I almost slept off while lying down! My mind and body was so relaxed, calm, and truly at peace. I felt lighter after the session.

I'm seeing steady improvement with the knee exercises, and the toe exercises are significantly easing the nerve pain. Really enjoyed the session, very helpful!
RRashmiHomemaker · IndiaTherapeutic sessions
As usual, it was an amazing session! Sathya, you have some magic in your voice. During the meditation, I drifted off into a peaceful sleep! Surya Namaskaram, Tadasana, and Vrikshasana were amazing. Because of my varicose vein pain I couldn't balance properly, but I tried my best, and I'm confident that I'll reach my goal very soon. Thank you so much for your patience and clear explanations.

Sathyajhith S S

Founder, Yuj Yoga Space

Jhith began practicing yoga fifteen years ago and has been teaching for more than seven. His path runs through the Sivananda and Ashtanga traditions and is anchored in the classical texts: the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali studied alongside Vyasa's commentary, the Upanishads, and the living discipline of daily practice.

He holds an MSc in Yoga from Annamalai University, where his research examined how symmetrical asana practice develops balanced strength in working professionals. He has taught students aged eight to sixty across one-on-one, group, corporate, school, and community settings, from Chennai to students joining live from Europe and the United States, and his training extends into rope yoga, aerial yoga, and the shatkriyas.

His teaching is precise and unhurried: strong on fundamentals, honest about philosophy, and shaped around each student. The goal is never a difficult pose. The goal is a practice you keep for life.

  • MSc Yoga, Annamalai University

Begin

Book your first session

Every journey at Yuj Yoga Space starts the same way: one trial session, with a free 10-minute orientation built in, where Jhith introduces yoga, its roots, and how practice here works. Group batch or one-on-one, you begin here.

Loading the booking calendar

Outside India? message Jhith directly and he will arrange your trial.

How it works

  1. Pick a slot for your ₹350 trial session below. It runs 70 minutes: 10 minutes of orientation, then a full class.
  2. As you book, a short form asks about your health, your routine, and your goals, so Jhith knows you before you meet.
  3. Tell him there whether you are aiming for the group batch or one-on-one, and your trial is shaped around that.
  4. Payment details then reach you personally on WhatsApp or email: UPI within India, arranged directly if you are abroad.

Questions

Before you ask

Yes, and beginners are especially welcome. You share your health and history in a short form before your first session, and every practice is adjusted to your level. You will never be pushed into a pose your body is not ready for.

The first 10 minutes of your trial session. Jhith introduces yoga and the tradition it comes from, explains how classes work, and answers your questions before practice begins. It is not booked separately; it is simply how every journey here begins.

A full 70-minute experience: the 10-minute orientation followed by a complete 60-minute class with asana, pranayama, and deep relaxation. By the end, you will know exactly what practicing here feels like.

The fee is ₹250 per session. Since each month has a different number of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday classes, the monthly amount is simply the number of planned sessions that month multiplied by ₹250. If you join with a friend, it is ₹200 per person for each of you.

Everyone begins with the ₹350 trial session, whether they are heading for the group batch or one-on-one. It lets Jhith see how you move and hear what you are working towards, so your first real class is shaped around you rather than guessed at. You tell him which one you are aiming for while you book.

After you book, payment details are shared with you personally. Students in India usually pay by UPI or bank transfer; if you are outside India, Jhith arranges it with you directly. Payment is never collected on this website.

Many students join from Europe and the US. The group batch runs at 6:30 AM IST, and this page shows what that is in your local time. One-on-one sessions are scheduled around your time zone.

A yoga mat, a quiet space about the size of your mat, a stable internet connection, and a relatively empty stomach, so avoid heavy food for two to three hours before class. That is all.

Yoga grew from Indian philosophy, and classes here are honest about those roots, including the Yoga Sutras. But nothing is asked of you except sincerity in practice. Students of every background and belief practice here comfortably.

Classical Sivananda and Ashtanga yoga: asana, pranayama, deep relaxation, meditation, and yogic philosophy, taught progressively. Rope yoga and other specialized practices appear in specific programs.

The union is the goal. The practice is the way.
